The International Potluck Dinner is an annual LCN event.  This year it will  be held on Wednesday, November 28,  at the First Presbyterian Church of  Norristown, beginning at 6:30 PM.

The food is provided by LCN students and tutors.  We have been served delicious ethnic cuisine such as Mexican enchiladas, Vietnamese spring rolls, Iranian eggplant, Indian curries, and dishes from several other countries.

Desserts, soft drinks, tea and coffee are also served.

In addition to the delicious meal, students and their tutors are recognized for their participation in both ESL and individual programs, as well as the improvement in language skills that the students have achieved.

Door prizes will be awarded to lucky attendees.

Tutors; please remind your students about this event..

Maria Chapis was recognized for her eleven years of service to the Literary Council of Norristown at a luncheon held at  the Plymouth Country Club on July 11.

Maria was Executive Director of LCN for eight years and then Director of Financial Outreach for three years.        During her time as Executive Director,

LCN’s ESL classes expanded.   Also, for the convenience of students and their employers, classes were held at locations away from LCN, such  as the King of Prussia Mall.  Other classes have

been held at local schools and civic organizations.

As Director of Financial Outreach, Maria

obtained donations for LCN from businesses, foundations and non-profits.

At the luncheon, LCN staff and members of the Board praised Maria for her support of their efforts on behalf of LCN programs.
