Lorena Carlson

Lorena Carlson has been at LCN for almost 3 years. She started at LCN as an ESL teacher, then was asked to come on board to oversee the GED program until finally landing at her current position as Director of Tutor Programs. As a first generation American, she watched first-hand the struggles of her parents who came to America for a better life with more opportunities, all while facing many obstacles because they did not know the language.  Lorena knew she wanted to help other adults, like her parents, not only feel welcome, but succeed in our country.  Lorena’s past life as an English teacher ignited within her a desire to help students in achieving their literacy goals.  She says, “What a gift to be able to work for an organization that fulfills both my passions!”
